3 - Listening

Listening in English is so important as writing and reading. Is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process.

Listening is key to all effective communication. Without the ability to listen effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. As a result, communication breaks down and the sender of the message can easily become frustrated or irritated.

One of the best ways to improve your listening skills is to listen music in English.

Exercise 5 – Don’t Stop me Now

We listen to music in class. It was the song Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen. It was a very cool time in class, I enjoyed a lot.

This activity helps because we needed to listen carefully to the song, to find what word fits in the right spot in the lyrics. It was a fun activity and it is a great song by the way.

 

Exercise 6 – Revenge

As I already said, I only listen english musics, they’re my favorite by far. So, for this topic I chose one music that I listen outside the class, Revenge by XXXTentacion.

“Revenge” is a song that is dedicated to his late friend, Jocelyn Flores, who commited suicide in the Bathroom of his hotel room while visiting him.

In case you don’t know, XXXTentacion is a rapper from United States. He was fatally shot On June 18, 2018, at the age of 20, in a robbery at a motorcycle dealership.

His songwriting has been described as outlandish and shocking, often referring to "violence, sex, and drugs," though on some projects such as The Fall and 17, X’s songwriting was more emotional in comparison to his previous work, often referring to loneliness, depression, isolation, and anxiety. He was known for his "depressing, and at times devastating" music that brought attention to mental health.
