1 – A Rush of Adrenaline
In this exercise we were asked to make a text about a moment that we felt a rush of adrenaline. I didn’t remember a lot of “rush of adrenaline” moments in my life, but I remember one that was very fun.
The Water Park
At the beginning of the year, I felt a rush of adrenaline that I will never forget. My girlfriend and I were on vacations in Minas Gerais, because it’s where my parents live. We wanted to do something new and funny, so we decided to go to a water park called “Thermas Dos Laranjais”. This water park is one of the biggest in Brazil. At first, we needed to make a 2 hours travel to get there, once it was in another town. But then, when we got there, it has a huge line to enter the place. It wasn´t a great time waiting in the line. But, when we entered the water park it was amazing! If I thought that the line was huge, I didn´t know what was waiting for me inside. The park was magnificent; it was impossible to see where it ends. The park itself was a rush of adrenaline, but it wasn´t just it. The park has the seventh largest toboggan in the world, named Everest, and, of course, we went to it. Its height is 30 meters! You need to climb like ten stairs to get to the top. When we reached there, I felt a rush of adrenaline. From the top you can see almost all the park, the view is amazing. The park has 260.000 square meters and has so many toboggans and pools! But, when I prepared to slide down, I got another rush of adrenaline, a different one. I was scared and excited at the same time. At the beginning I thought I would die, not literally, but then it was very cool! I don’t know when we will return, but I wish we would, because it was a great experience! Anyway, if we return, I´m going to have my reencounter with the Everest!
First, I really liked this exercise, because the teacher made it in pairs, so the students need to correct each other’s text. I made this exercise with my friend and we had fun correcting each other mistakes, it was a good way to improve my writing.
When I made this text about a rush of adrenaline I wanted to put some feelings in it, I wanted the people to feel what I was feeling that time and the way I wrote it can change everything. That’s why I liked this activity. It kind of obligate you to put some emotions in the paper.
